GRACE VALLEY INDIAN SCHOOL offers a curriculum that provides authentic learning experiences that suit individual learning styles and levels of achievement.

Teaching and learning opportunities at Grace Valley aim at enhancing Value-based   LIFE Skill, Positive Attitude and Creative thinking along with Social and Emotional wellbeing.

Our school focuses on the principles of holistic development of every child who enters our portals. The curriculum complies with CBSE expectations and the development of skills that suit the international context. Teaching and learning strategies revolve around Cognitive, Psychomotor and affective domains of learning.

Strategies involved are objective-based learning activities that make students ‘do’ in the process of learning. Learning objectives guide the learner to know what he/she intends to do with

what has been learned and focus on setting individual learner pathways and priorities. The objects of learning are Lessons from textbooks, digital resources, and research projects. Attempts are

made to provide authentic learning experiences that suit individual learning styles and levels of achievement.

Assessment of learning is formative in nature throughout the Kindergarten and primary school and a combination of Formative and Summative assessments through middle and high school. Specific strategies and techniques are used in measuring the progress of individual student’s knowledge, the ability to apply that

knowledge to real-world situations, critically reflect on acquired knowledge and communicate results effectively adding value to the knowledge gained. We have moved one step forward by incorporating and aligning the “Student Competence framework” introduced by ADEK into the curriculum. Continuous and comprehensive assessment of learning is based on Student Competence Framework that equips students with skills, behaviors, and competencies required for the 21st Century world.

We believe that competency is a cluster of knowledge, skills, and attitudes that reflect in one’s performance in a task. The classroom is the training ground and opportunities are provided to practice problem solving and critical thinking skills that help in improving the competencies.

We believe that a curriculum of excellence with global dimensions is central to the education of children to face the challenges of the 21st century with confidence and strength of the character. We offer our students a rich variety of opportunities from kindergarten to year 12 supported by an exciting range of specialist facilities and technology. Our curriculum is broad and balanced which allows our students to thrive equally in academics and creative disciplines.
